Although Ron Paul is staunchly Pro-Life. And yet recognizes a state's right to decide for themselves on such issues.

This is really just more a cynical opinion of mine. I believe people should have access to safe abortions. I do not personally believe in abortions for any reason other than health problems, but teenage girls are not rational creatures, and if you were to take away their freedom to choose, they would very likely take matters into their own hands with tragic results.

I also wanted to add something to this message about the plight of the worlds endangered species, about how many animals are right now being slaughtered towards extinction, but I hate arguing with people who tell me I'm a bad person for comparing animals to humans. Well we certainly aren't plants, fungi or bacteria!

I agree. I'm 100% pro-choice, for whatever reason. Whether it's rape, health risk...or just a low income, I think the option should be open to the woman or girl if she ever finds herself in that situation. And it's sad that people don't realize that abortions won't stop if it's made illegal, just the safe ones. Making abortion illegal isn't going to save anyone :(

And seriously, not nearly as many people care about the animals that are being ruthlessly slaughtered every day the way they care about an unborn fetus. It's kind of scary. And we ARE animals. It's just the fact that we're the dominate species that has poisoned our minds into thinking we're so damn important and the "lesser" species are lower than dirt, and so it doesn't matter if they're killed without thought.

Hence I call myself anti-abortion and not pro-life. Pro-life and pro-choice are insubstantial, meaningless buzzwords meant to obfuscate and distract anyhow.

Nice save. I only support it on the grounds that if we try to illegalize it, idiot 12 year old girls who shouldn't be having sex in the first place are going to end up killing themselves. I personally find abortion to be a terribly reprehensible thing, and though it would fuck me over completely to have a child, it would never be an option to me.

Wouldn't that be covered under medical/health excuses? You'd be hard pressed to find anybody who wants abortion under any and all circumstances regardless of the health of the mother and the unborn made fully banned.

You'd be surprised actually. I read an article once about a mother who was basically forced to carry a pregnancy full term despite the fact there was a thirty percent chance she would die of heart problems.
